Course Curriculum

Week 1

This module covers the basics of IT, such as hardware, software, networking, security, and troubleshooting. You will learn how to set up and maintain a computer system, as well as how to use common applications and tools. This module will help you prepare for the CompTIA IT Fundamentals certification exam.

Week 2

This module covers the topics and skills required for the CompTIA Security+ certification exam. You will learn how to identify and mitigate various security threats and vulnerabilities, such as malware, phishing, denial-of-service, ransomware, and social engineering. You will also learn how to implement security policies and procedures, such as encryption, authentication, access control, firewalls, VPNs, and wireless security. You will also learn how to monitor and respond to security incidents and events.

Week 3

This module introduces you to the concepts and principles of information security management, such as confidentiality, integrity, availability, accountability, and non-repudiation. You will learn how to assess and manage security risks using various methods and tools, such as risk analysis, risk treatment, risk register, and risk matrix. You will also learn how to develop and maintain an information security management system (ISMS) based on the Plan-Do-Check-Act (PDCA) cycle.

Week 4

This module covers the topics and skills required for the ISO27001 certification exam. ISO27001 is an international standard that specifies the requirements for establishing, implementing, maintaining, and improving an ISMS. You will learn how to apply the ISO27001 framework to your organization and how to audit its compliance using various techniques and checklists. You will also learn how to deal with non-conformities and corrective actions.

Week 5

This module covers the topics and skills related to network security, such as network architecture, network devices, network protocols, network services, network attacks, and network defense. You will learn how to design and configure secure networks using various technologies and tools, such as routers, switches, firewalls, IDS/IPS, NAC, DNSSEC, SSL/TLS, SSH, IPsec, etc. You will also learn how to troubleshoot network issues and ensure network performance.

Week 6

This module covers the topics and skills related to ethical hacking and penetration testing, which are methods of testing the security of systems and networks by simulating real-world attacks. You will learn how to use various tools and techniques to perform reconnaissance, scanning, exploitation, post-exploitation, and reporting phases of a penetration test. You will also learn how to follow ethical principles and legal regulations when conducting a penetration test.

Week 7

This module covers the topics and skills required for the BCS Certificate in Information Security Management Principles (CISMP) exam. CISMP is a certification that validates your knowledge and understanding of information security management principles and best practices. You will learn about various topics such as information security governance, information security frameworks, information security standards, information security legislation, information security incident management, and business continuity management.

Week 8

This module covers the topics and skills required for the Certificate of Cloud Security Knowledge (CCSK) exam. CCSK is a certification that validates your knowledge and competence in cloud security issues and best practices. You will learn about various topics such as cloud computing architecture, cloud computing risks, cloud computing controls, cloud computing compliance, cloud computing audit, and cloud computing incident response.
